Solar Ambassadors of Purdue University
About
The Solar Ambassadors of Purdue University reach out to local nonprofits to see if they are interested in installing solar panels at their facilities. The Solar Ambassadors also run crowdfunding campaigns to cover upfront costs of solar installations. They host educational events on solar energy and other environmental topics on and off campus throughout the year and partner with community organizations on events. These events include, but are not limited to, movie screenings, webinars with environmental organizations, and faculty discussion panels.
The Solar Ambassador Team works with an nonprofit organization called RE-volv, which is based in San Francisco, to help nonprofits go solar. RE-volv helps with the design and implementation of the solar panels, and also determines the financial logistics of a solar installation. In addition, the Solar Ambassador Team helps raise money for RE-volv's Solar Seed Fund.
