Sahaja Meditation Association of Purdue

About

The Sahaja Meditation Association of Purdue is a student club meant to teach and practice meditation according to the style of Sahaja Yoga as founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi. The practice of Sahaja Yoga is fundamentally based on the experience of Self-Realization where the attention is brought to its source - which is your Self. In doing so, your attention is relieved of the multitude of distracting or stress-inducing thoughts. Consequently, there is a sense of deep relaxation and inner peace.

For the more spiritual-minded among you, meditation through Sahaja Yoga enables you to experience an intimate and deep spiritual connection within yourself in an effortless and spontaneous manner as we believe that the spiritual experience is part of a natural, living process meant for all human beings to enjoy, as opposed to forced efforts of philosophical speculation.

The technique of Sahaja Yoga simply makes use of an inbuilt subtle system in human consciousness which is 'pre-programmed' by nature to work in a manner that takes our attention away from disturbances. In our classes, we will teach you how to use this subtle system to get into meditation which can be practiced easily at home as well.

All the teachings of Sahaja Yoga are always provided free of cost and are open to all irrespective of faith, gender, age, etc.
