Purdue Taal
About
Created in the fall of 2009, Purdue Taal is Purdue University’s very first South Asian a cappella team. It was created in order to bring a new front of a cappella music to Purdue, in which eastern and western cultures of the world are brought together by the fusion of music from each respective region. Designed to bring together music lovers of various backgrounds, this organization attempts to sow and nurture an appreciation for cultural diversity through the universal language of music.
As a team, we have released two professional recorded studio albums "Pitch Please" and "Heartbeat". You can find them on Spotify under "Taal". We have nationally competed in the South Asian A Cappella circuit, most recently, winning 2nd place at UCLA Sahana 2020.
