Purdue Pet-a-Puppy Club
About
The purpose of this organization is to help our peers become more involved in our surrounding shelters. We do this by frequently volunteering at local shelters and creating programs to fundraise on campus for them. We also regularly bring dogs and puppies from shelters somewhere on campus for our peers to pet and play with as they pass by between classes. This benefits the students by allowing them to relax from their stressful courses with the happiness that a playful puppy can supply, as well as benefits the dogs by giving them companions to socialize with because many shelters cannot afford to frequently have people there with the animals. These "Pet-a-Puppy Days" can hopefully even lead to potential adoptions or foster parents for these dogs.
