Purdue Student Farm Organization
About
PSFO connects students from all majors and experience levels to hands-on farming, greenhouse growing, and local food production. While we are an extension of the Purdue Student Farm and help support its CSA program, our focus is on giving Purdue students opportunities to engage with horticultural crops in a fun and flexible way.
In the Fall, we head outside to help with harvests, including apples, grapes, peppers, and other seasonal crops. Members often get to take home fresh produce as a reward for their hard work. We also organize hikes at local forests, and other outdoor activities, with a final harvest banquet to celebrate.
In the Spring, we shift to greenhouse growing to prepare for our annual Springfest plant sale fundraiser. Of course, members always get to take home plenty of plants for their summer gardens, too. We also host hands-on workshops on farming/horticulture topics our members want to learn.
We welcome everyone—no experience is necessary, just an interest in plants, food, or getting your hands dirty! There are no membership fees, attendance requirements, or obligations. Enjoy free plants, free produce, and free club swag. Our meetings are a great way to meet like-minded people from all walks of life, so come join us once a week at 6 PM. Join our Slack group for specific meeting locations/dates. We’ll see you there!
