Motorsports At Purdue
About
Motorsports at Purdue is an organization that connects students interested in any and all aspects of motorsports together. In formal weekly meetings, the team works together to design, build, maintain and run its electric and gas karts as well as discussing all things motorsports. During the school year, the team participates in series such as the Purdue Grand Prix, Purdue evGrandPrix, and Whiteland Fall Collegiate Series.
Moving forward into the 2024-2025 academic school year, Motorsports at Purdue aims to increase focus on the engineering and race management for the electric vehicle karts as well as professional outreach. Subgroups will focus on different aspects of the kart to research and design, working together to race in the Purdue's spring evGrand Prix, a program that is quickly gaining popularity. In addition, speakers with backgrounds within professional racing and automotive industries will join special meetings to give insight into their experiences.
No prior experience is required, only a passion for motorsports; all majors are welcome!
Many current and past alumni are currently working in professional motorsports and will occasionally come back to give seminars on professional motorsports. In the last 3 years Motorsports at Purdue has sent students on to work professionally in the NTT IndyCar Series, NASCAR Cup Series, USF Pro 2000 Championship and more!
