Homesteaders Association of Purdue University
About
The focus of the Homesteaders Association is to provide an educational opportunity for Purdue students to learn about the historical time period of American agriculture from the eighteen and early nineteen hundreds through learning about crop production, animal maintenance, cooking and baking, laundry, and technological advancements during the turn of the century to World War II. We are dedicated to preserving the story of the heritage of American Agriculture and more broadly American History during the turn of the century and before World War II by actively seeking demonstration opportunities, engaging in crafts, learning history, and refining Purdue students’ facilitation techniques. We will also use these skills to provide a means of education of present-day agricultural practices to help spread awareness in agriculture to a growing population that is further removed from the farm.
