Gymnastics Club

About

The Purdue Gymnastics Club is a group of normal, everyday students who want to stay active while at school. The club is a great environment for everybody, from complete beginners to experienced competitors; we all aim to better ourselves and learn from one another.

The club owns equipment for all 6 men’s events and all 4 women’s events. We practice weekly Monday-Thursday in Lambert Fieldhouse in the evenings. We are a competitive team, and we compete under the National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs (NAIGC). The competitions are organized so that anyone of any skill level can compete any event that they want. Competition is by no means necessary and members can choose to only compete events that they are comfortable with. Every year, we typically attend 3 or 4 meets around our region, as well as nationals at the end of the year. Additionally, we also host our own meet in Lambert once a year, called the Golden Grips Invitational.

The mission of the Purdue Gymnastics Club is to provide a competitive outlet for gymnasts who are not a part of collegiate varsity teams, as well as provide a welcoming environment for newcomers to learn gymnastics. Through team practices and activities, we create an environment that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, confidence, and most importantly, fun.

No experience necessary to join! If you are interested in becoming a member, contact the President of the club via email, and they will send you more details about how to join.
