Engineering World Health

About

Engineering World Health is a national organization with three main components: Equipment Repair, Design Team, and Trinity Outreach. The Purdue chapter focuses on the Design Team component, working to develop low-cost medical devices which are compatible for use in developing countries. Past projects have included a neonatal incubator tester, a comfortable tocodynamometer to measure contraction strength in pregnant women, and a solar-powered autoclave. Participation in this organization provides members with valuable engineering experience and the opportunity to develop and improve technical skills while working in teams to solve healthcare problems around the world. Membership is open to all Purdue students.
