Contact Improvisation at Purdue

Contact Improvisation at Purdue

About

Contact Improvisation is a partner dance form based on the physical principles of touch, momentum, shared weight, and most quintessentially - following a shared point of contact. It does not require any previous dance/acro/martial arts experience, but all from these fields and other walks of life are welcome! This is a form of movement that allows you to have fun and get a good workout.

The Purdue Contact Improv club meets regularly, approximately twice a month on either Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoons. Watch for additional details on the information board next to the dance division studios, PAO 1171/1179, and check our Instagram and Boilerlink events page for dates and times as the jams come about! We also hold our annual Contact Improvisation Gathering [CIG] every spring, watch for dates coming up soon.
