Boilers In Action
About
Boilers in Action (BIA) is a student lead organization that is driven towards making a positive impact in our local and global communities. We do this in the Purdue campus and Greater Lafayette community through service, education, and meaningful relationship-building. Throughout their various roads to success, we develop our members into young and passionate leaders who will shape the world of tomorrow.
Members work alongside the Civic Engagement & Leadership Development Office in the Krach Leadership Center to connect Purdue students, faculty and staff with our partners in the community. The organization is composed of eight student directors who combine their energy, creativity, and leadership skills to coordinate Make a Difference Day, MLK Day of Service, Spring Blast, Project Move Out, and more. Members can serve with BIA as Site Leaders or general volunteers. Questions? Email bvn@purdue.edu
Our Mission: Boilers In Action establishes as our purpose: to promote student leadership development for social change by supporting students in coordinating meaningful community engagement, on a local level and across the country. We do this through trainings that allow students to explore their personal values and disciplines and how this connects to social responsibility, events that allow students to discuss societal issues and active citizenship, and workshops that utilize critical reflection to gain a deeper understanding of community impact.
